THE NOTION LIVING SYSTEM ORCHESTRA — ENTERPRISE COURSE, B2B SOFTWARE & THE LUMINOUS RETREAT
An Enterprise-Level Offering for Founders, Executive Teams, Cultural Architects, and Whole-System Builders Who Want Their Companies to Sing
A complete dossier of facilitation, service, software, pedagogy, party, lila, music, and the kind of memories your team will still be telling stories about in ten years.
I. PROLOGUE — WHY AN ORCHESTRA, AND WHY NOW
There is a moment, somewhere between Series A and Series Whatever, when every founder feels it: the company they started — that nimble, mischievous, brilliant little creature — has begun to behave like a machine. Slack threads metastasize. OKRs harden into liturgy. The all-hands sounds like a courtroom. Somewhere, the aliveness leaked out. Nobody knows exactly when. Everybody noticed.
The Notion Living System Orchestra is the enterprise offering we built for that moment. It is not a course. It is not a SaaS. It is not a retreat. It is all three, fused at the seams, scored like a symphony, and delivered with the outlandish expertise of facilitators who have done this 400 times and the playful tenderness of people who refuse to take themselves so seriously they forget to dance. Slogan: Your company is already a living system. We just help it remember the music.
Tagline (alt): From org chart to orchestra. From roadmap to raga. From scaling to singing.
II. THE THREE-PART OFFERING (THE BRAID)
Enterprises don't buy single things. They buy transformations. So we braid three strands:
Strand 1 — THE COURSE (Pedagogy)
A 12-week cohort-based facilitated curriculum based on the seven chapters of The Notion Living System Orchestra: Core Teaching, Case Studies, Applications & Best Practices, The Luminous
Protocol, The Living Assessment, Appreciative Inquiry, and the Lecture Outline. Delivered to executive teams, founder-coach pairs, or whole departments.
Strand 2 — THE APP (B2B Software)
A Notion-native software layer — Luminous OS — that operationalizes the protocols. Living Assessments become dashboards. Appreciative Inquiry becomes weekly rituals. The Luminous Protocol becomes a workflow. The book becomes a tool that lives inside the company's daily operating rhythm.
Strand 3 — THE RETREAT (Party + Pedagogy + Lila)
A 5-day immersion at a beautiful place with extraordinary food, live musicians, embodied practice, structured play, and the kind of facilitated edge-work that turns coworkers into collaborators and collaborators into kin.
The braid is the offering. A client may begin at any strand, but the magic compounds when all three are present. Course without retreat is theory. Retreat without app is nostalgia. App without course is software. Together, they become an operating system for aliveness at scale.
III. THE COURSE — Conducting the Living Company
Format
- 12 weeks, cohort-based
- 90-minute live sessions, 2x/week
- Pods of 4–6 leaders
- Lifetime access to recordings, workbook, and Notion templates
- Capstone: a live presentation of the team's Living Score
Curriculum Arc (mapped to the book's seven movements)
Week 1–2: Core Teaching — *The Company as Living System We begin where every good orchestra begins: by tuning. Leaders learn to perceive their company not as a hierarchy or a process diagram but as a metabolism, a nervous system, a chorus. The frame shifts everything downstream.
Week 3–4: Case Studies — The Beautiful Mess We tell the truth about real ventures. The fintech that almost died because the founders stopped having lunch together. The DTC brand whose Q4 was saved by a karaoke night. The B2B SaaS whose pivot came from a janitor's offhand comment. Composite, anonymized, and devastatingly accurate.
Week 5–6: Applications & Best Practices — *The Practical Boxes We move from frame to fingertips. Meeting hygiene as breathwork. Roadmaps as living scores. Hiring as casting. OKRs as call-andresponse. Leaders leave each session with one practice they can deploy on Monday.
Week 7–8: The Luminous Protocol — *The Method The original step-by-step methodology. Seven moves. Repeatable. Teachable. Recognizable. We facilitate cohorts through the full Protocol, then teach them to facilitate it themselves.
Week 9: The Living Assessment — Where Are You, Really?
A 64-item self-diagnostic instrument that maps the company across four domains: Somatic (how does the org feel in the body), Relational (how do humans actually relate), Generative (where is value emerging), and Mythic (what story is the company telling itself). Output: a radar chart and a narrative. Week 10: Appreciative Inquiry — *What Is Already Alive?
The Luminous shift: we stop asking what's broken and start asking what's working that we've been too busy to notice. Leaders interview their own teams using a structured AI protocol, then bring back what they heard. Almost universally: tears, laughter,
recommitment.
Week 11: The Lecture Outline — *Becoming a Carrier Leaders learn to teach the material. Because a frame that lives only in one person's head is a fragile frame. We train internal champions.
Week 12: Capstone — The Living Score* Each team presents the score they have composed for their company over the twelve weeks: the practices they've adopted, the rituals they've designed, the assessments they've run, the music they've written. Graduation is a concert.
Pricing — Course Only

- Whole-Company License (up to 250): $385,000

IV. THE APP — Luminous OS
Software is where pedagogy goes to die — unless the software is itself alive. Luminous OS is built Notion-native (because that's where modern teams already live) with a companion mobile app for rituals, check-ins, and field notes.
Core Modules
- Living Dashboard
Real-time radar of the four domains (Somatic, Relational, Generative, Mythic). Updated weekly via 90-second pulse surveys. No vanity metrics. No engagement-theater. Just honest signal.
- Ritual Engine
Pre-built and customizable rituals: opening circles, closing circles, appreciative inquiry rounds, decision rites, conflict ceremonies, launch blessings, post-mortems-as-funerals. Each ritual ships with a facilitator script, a timer, and a music cue.
- Protocol Workflows
The Luminous Protocol, instantiated. Teams move through the seven moves with prompts, checkpoints, and AI-assisted reflections. Outputs become living artifacts in the team's Notion workspace.
- Appreciative Inquiry Loops
Quarterly company-wide AI cycles. The software handles scheduling, prompt distribution, response synthesis, and theme extraction. Leadership receives a Living Brief — what is alive, what is emerging, what is asking for attention.
- Mythic Layer
The most outlandish feature, and the one clients love most. The app helps the company name and tend its own myth — its origin story, its current chapter, its emerging arc. Quarterly rituals to retell, revise, and recommit.
- Music & Memory
Every team gets a shared playlist. Every milestone gets a song. The app remembers — and resurfaces — the music of the moment a deal closed, a launch shipped, a cofounder cried at the all-hands. We are building institutional memory through soundtrack.
Pricing — Luminous OS
- Starter (up to 50 seats): $12 per seat / month
- Growth (50–250 seats): $9 per seat / month
- Enterprise (250+ seats): Custom, starting at $180,000/year
- All tiers include: Notion-native templates, mobile app, quarterly
facilitation hours, Living Brief subscription
V. THE RETREAT — Lila House: Five Days of Outlandish
Aliveness This is the heart of the offering. The course is the curriculum. The app is the operating system. The retreat is the heartbeat.
Where
A rotating roster of extraordinary venues: a Tuscan villa, a Costa Rican jungle lodge, a Hudson Valley farm, a Big Sur cliffside, a Kyoto temple-stay. We choose places that already know how to hold humans.
Who
Up to 24 participants per cohort. Typically intact executive teams, founder cohorts, or curated cross-company gatherings of senior leaders.
The Architecture
A retreat is a composition. Ours has movements.
Movement One — Arrival (Day 0 evening) Phones into a beautiful wooden box. A long welcome dinner with no agenda. A live cellist playing while people eat. The first ritual: each person introduces themselves not by title or company but by the question they are currently living.
Movement Two — Tuning (Day 1) Morning movement practice. A long walk in pairs. The first formal teaching: The Company as Living System. An afternoon swim, a nap, then evening Council — a structured circle where each person speaks one true thing about why they came.
Movement Three — Lila (Day 2) The day of play. Improv games in the morning. A barefoot soccer match in the afternoon. A cooking competition with judges who have been bribed with wine. The teaching for the day, slipped in sideways: play is not the opposite of work; play is the substrate of generative work.
Movement Four — Edge (Day 3) The hard day. We teach the Living Assessment. Each team runs it on their own company, in real time, in a room with no escape. Then we teach Appreciative Inquiry, and they run that too. The combination — naked diagnosis followed by tender appreciation — produces the kind of breakthrough that no offsite ever has. Evening: a long, candlelit dinner. Tears are common. So is laughter.
Movement Five — Composition (Day 4) Each team composes its Living Score: the practices, rituals, and commitments it will bring home. They present their scores to the full cohort. We hire local musicians to underscore the presentations — literally. Each team's score is presented over a live musical accompaniment chosen by our composer to match the team's emerging archetype.
Movement Six — Festival (Day 4 evening) The party. Live band. Dance floor. Bonfire. The kind of night people refer to for years afterward as the night. We do not apologize for the centrality of this. Memory is the medium of culture. Joy is the catalyst of memory. We are in the memory business.
Movement Seven — Return (Day 5) A slow morning. A closing circle. The phones come back. Each person leaves with: a printed copy of their Living Score, a physical artifact (we vary it — a hand-bound journal, a tuning
fork, a deck of facilitation cards), a curated playlist of the week, and a 90-day re-entry plan.
Pricing — Retreat

meals, materials, facilitation, music, transport from nearest airport)

VII. PEDAGOGY: HOW WE ACTUALLY TEACH
Three principles, never violated:
- Embodiment Before Concept.
Every teaching begins with a movement, a breath, or a sensation. The body learns before the mind catches up. We never lecture into a room of seated, screen-numbed humans without first inviting their bodies into the room.
- Lila, Always.
Lila is the Sanskrit word for divine play — the universe as a creative game. Every session has a moment of structured silliness. Not because play is a break from learning, but because play is learning at its highest bandwidth. Anyone who has watched a CFO solve a strategic problem during an improv exercise understands.
- Aliveness as Metric.
We do not measure satisfaction. We measure aliveness. Pre and post each engagement, participants self-rate on a 12-item Aliveness Index. We share the data with the client. Across 4 years and 312 cohorts: average lift, 41%. Median sustained lift at 6 months: 28%. (We will show you the data.)
VIII. ANECDOTES (The Stories That Sell Themselves)
The CFO Who Cried. A publicly-traded fintech, 1,200 employees.
Their CFO, famous internally for never showing emotion, broke down in the middle of an Appreciative Inquiry circle on Day 3 of the retreat. He said, I have not been thanked for my work in eleven years. The team thanked him. He thanked them. The next quarter's earnings call, he opened with a story about gratitude. Stock didn't move. Culture did.
The Karaoke Pivot. A Series B DTC brand was three months from running out of cash. On Night 2 of the retreat, the founders sang a deliberately terrible duet of Bohemian Rhapsody at the festival. Mid-song, the CEO stopped, turned to her co-founder, and said, We are trying to be the wrong company. By breakfast they had a new positioning. By Q4 they had product-market fit. The pivot is in their pitch deck. The karaoke is in their hearts.
The Janitor's Insight. A B2B SaaS company ran the Luminous Protocol with their full company, including operations staff. The night janitor — who had worked there for nine years — said in his small group: I notice the engineers stop talking to each other when the deadline is two weeks away. Before that, they laugh. After that, they whisper. The company restructured its sprint cycles around what the team came to call the laughter window. Velocity went up 22%.
The Cellist Who Sealed the Deal. During a private retreat for a private equity firm, we hired a cellist to play during the closing circle. One of the partners — who had been on the fence about a $40M deal — leaned over to the managing director during a particularly aching passage and said, I'm in. I just decided. He later said the music gave him permission to feel what he already knew.
The Engineer Who Became a Facilitator. A senior engineer at a logistics company went through the train-the-trainer certification "because his manager made him." Eighteen months later, he is the company's Director of Cultural Operations, a role
they invented for him. He runs the Luminous OS internally. His old engineering team has the lowest attrition in the company.

X. MUSIC, RELATIONSHIPS, MEMORIES — THE THREE INVISIBLE PRODUCTS
If you ask our clients what they bought, they will tell you they bought a course, an app, and a retreat. If you ask them what they got, they will tell you something different.
Music. Every Luminous engagement has a soundtrack. Live musicians at retreats. Curated playlists during work. A company composer who scores the company's milestones. Years later, clients tell us a song comes on and they are back in the circle, back in the moment of decision, back in the memory of who they became that week. Music is not decoration. Music is encoding. Relationships. Executive teams come in as a roster. They leave as an ensemble. The depth of relationship that develops in five days of structured aliveness exceeds what most teams develop in five years of weekly stand-ups. We have measured this.
Clients regularly cite "my retreat cohort" as one of the most important relational fields in their professional life — sometimes ahead of their own team.
Memories. Memory is the substrate of culture. A culture is, at its base, a shared set of memories that carry shared meaning. Most companies have terrible memories — anonymous all-hands, indistinguishable Q-reviews, forgettable kickoffs. We engineer the opposite. We build the kinds of moments that become origin stories. The bonfire on night four. The cellist during the closing circle. The CFO's tears. The karaoke pivot. Years from now, your team will be telling these stories. That is the product.
