Part VII: A Final Anecdote and a Final Promise
Last year, on day four of a retreat in the foothills of a mountain range we will not name because the venue prefers privacy, the closing ceremony ran ninety minutes longer than scheduled.
Nobody noticed. Nobody checked a watch. The percussion ensemble, who had been planning to wrap by midnight, kept playing because the room asked them to. Ammanuel, who is usually the most careful clock-watcher in the building, sat down on the edge of the floor and, instead of cueing the close, simply watched. Forty-seven humans who had arrived four days earlier as strangers were dancing in a configuration that no choreographer could have arranged. There were tears. There was laughter. There was a particular quality of attention between people that, frankly, we have learned to recognize as the thing we are in this work to produce. After it ended, in the kind of slow dispersal that only happens when nobody wants the night to be over, a participant — a chief operating officer of a company you have heard of — came up to one of our team and said, very quietly, I did not know I was allowed to be this happy.
That is the sentence. That is, in nine words, why we do what we do.
We are going to make you the same offer we made him, and the seven hundred and forty-three other humans who have been through our retreats since we started counting. Come for five
days. Bring your tired body, your skeptical mind, your overcommitted calendar, your unresolved questions, your favorite shoes for dancing in. Let us put you on a sprung wood floor with the right music and the right people and Ammanuel Santa Anna himself, holding the room. Let the theme be a dance. Let the state be a dance. Let the metrics — the ones that matter to your board, your CFO, your therapist, your spouse, and your seven-year-old — flow from the states. Trust us with the design. Trust the cohort with you. Trust your body, which has been waiting.
We will give back to you a self that, on Tuesday at nine, four months from now, in the meeting that has been on the calendar for a week, will know exactly what to do — because the body remembers, the metric follows, and the dance is the theme is the state is the life.
Closing slogan: Move the body. Move the state. Move the team. Move the world. Then dance.
We are Luminous Prosperity Inc. Our principal facilitator is Ammanuel Santa Anna. We have been ready to move with you for some time now. The floor is sprung. The drums are tuned. The kitchen is warm. The mountains are visible from at least three windows. The only thing missing is you.
Come dance with us. The article ends here. The retreat begins the moment you say yes.

THE LUMINOUS LILA RETREAT — A BUSINESS PLAN
A Fun-Loving, Highly Transformational Luxury Retreat by Ammanuel Santa Anna & Luminous Prosperity Inc.
Built on the Canon of Dance Psychology: Movement as Mind
Executive Summary
The Luminous Lila Retreat is a five-to-seven-day luxury immersion that takes the eighteen-chapter canon of Dance Psychology: Movement as Mind and turns it into the most joyful, embodied, deeply transformational week of a participant's life. Hosted by Ammanuel Santa Anna under the Luminous Prosperity Inc. banner, the retreat blends rigorous dance psychology pedagogy with five-star hospitality, a world-class music program, trauma-aware facilitation, and the unapologetic playfulness of lila — divine play. Guests arrive as tired, brilliant high-performers and leave as people who remember they are alive in a body that wants to move.
Slogan: Move the body. Move the heart. Move the life. Then dance.
1. Vision, Mission, and the Lila Promise
Vision. A world in which the most transformational week of a person's year is also the most fun week of their year — and the lessons live in their body for the next decade.
Mission. To deliver luxury retreats where dance psychology, somatic safety, ecstatic play, and deep transformation are no longer separate offerings but a single unified experience, hosted with the warmth of a wedding and the rigor of a clinical practice. The Lila Promise. Every guest leaves with: (1) a body that knows itself again, (2) a heart that has been seen, (3) friendships forged through synchronized movement, and (4) a 90-day integration plan that keeps the magic alive on a Tuesday afternoon in February. --Dance Psychology: Movement as Mind
2. Market Opportunity
- The global wellness retreat market exceeds $250B and is
growing double digits annually.
- The luxury experiential travel segment is the fastest-growing
slice — affluent guests increasingly choose transformation over things.
- Existing offerings cluster around three poles: silent meditation
(deep but joyless), yoga retreats (saturated and homogeneous), and luxury spa (pampering without depth). Nothing in the market currently combines clinical-grade somatic transformation with luxury hospitality and a real, joyful dance floor.
- Target guests: founders, executives, creatives, therapists,
coaches, healers, high-performing couples, and cultural producers aged 28–62 with $250K+ household income.
3. The Offer — What Guests Actually Receive
3.1 The Core Retreat (Five Days, All-Inclusive)
- 18 facilitated movement sessions calibrated to the canon's
chapters
- 2 trauma-aware emotional emergence labs (Chapter 7
protocols)
- 3 evening dance experiences (curated DJs + live percussion)
- 1 Chapter 11 sunrise numinous practice
- Daily somatic bodywork, breath, and integration coaching
- Three farm-to-table meals, hydration stations, herbal
apothecary
- Private suite, spa access, nature immersion, optional digital
detox
- Personal Movement Intelligence Profile and 90-day post-retreat
plan
- Lifetime alumni community + bi-annual reunion weekends
3.2 Retreat Tiers
| Tier | Length | Price | Cohort Size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lila Discovery | 3 days | $4,800 | 24 |
| Lila Signature | 5 days | $9,500 | 32 |
| Lila Deep | 7 days | $14,800 | 24 |
| Lila Private (corporate / leadership team) | 5 days | $185,000 flat
| up to 20 |
4. Techniques & Tactics — The Pedagogical Spine
The retreat draws every technique directly from the canon:
- Chapter 1 — Primordial Movement. Daily morning practice that
lets each guest land in their body before language.
- Chapter 2 — Mirror Neuron Activation. Witness-and-bewitnessed protocols that build kinesthetic empathy across the
cohort within 36 hours.
- Chapter 3 — Flow Threshold Calibration. Each guest's
challenge-skill ratio is mapped on Day 1 and choreographed across the week.
- Chapter 4 — Laban Effort & Emotion Spectrum Dance. The
body learns a vocabulary of feeling deeper than therapy alone can reach.
- Chapter 5 — Identity Dance. Mask-and-reveal practices that
surface the authentic self.
- Chapter 6 — Performance Psychology. Pre-stage rituals
translated for life's high-stakes moments.
- Chapter 7 — DMT-Inspired Emergence. Authentic Movement
and Chacian Circles, held by trauma-credentialed facilitators.
- Chapter 8 — Synchrony Labs. Group flow induction with
measurable cohesion shifts.
- Chapter 10 — Contact Improvisation. Trust, weight, and the
radical democracy of touch.
- Chapter 11 — The Numinous in Motion. Whirling, sacred spiral,
secular reverence.
- Chapter 13 — Cueing Craft. Languaging that lands in the body,
never lectures the mind.
- Chapter 14 — Container Design. The whole retreat is itself a
Chapter 14 demonstration.
Every technique is paired with explicit consent, contraindication screening, and a soft opt-out signal that any guest can use at any time without explanation.
5. Logistics — How the Magic Actually Runs
5.1 Venue Standards
Non-negotiables: sprung wood floor capable of 6+ hours of dance, world-class sound system, private emergence rooms with acoustic privacy, outdoor sunrise space, kitchen capable of feeding 32 guests three meals daily with full dietary accommodation, single rooms for every guest, on-site nurse or paramedic for the duration.
Confirmed venue partners (rotational): former monastery in Umbria, redwood lodge in Mendocino, beach property in Tulum, chalet in the Swiss Alps, desert compound outside Marfa, coastal villa in Portugal.
5.2 The Five-Day Arc
- Day 0 — Arrival. Welcome supper, gentle Primordial Movement,
deep sleep.
- Day 1 — Foundations. Chapters 1–3. Why we dance. Flow
appears.
- Day 2 — The Vocabulary of Feeling. Chapters 4 & 7. Emotion
moves. Backlog clears.
- Day 3 — Identity & Performance. Chapters 5 & 6. The first
proper dance party.
- Day 4 — Collective Body & Improvisation. Chapters 8 & 10.
Strangers become a tribe. Numinous closing ceremony.
- Day 5 — Integration & Carry-Forward. Chapters 13 & 14. Each

5.3 Operations & Team
- Lead facilitator: Ammanuel Santa Anna (host, lineage-holder,
voice of the room).
- Senior facilitator team: 3–4 certified Luminous Facilitators per
retreat.
- Music director + 2 resident DJs + 1 live percussion ensemble.
- Trauma-credentialed therapist on call 24/7.
- Bodywork team: 4 practitioners offering daily sessions.
- Hospitality team: chef, sous-chef, three service staff, venue
manager.
- Operations lead + guest concierge.
- Total staff-to-guest ratio: approximately 1:2.
5.4 Safety & Care Architecture
- Pre-arrival intake including medical, trauma, and movement
history.
- Daily pulse check-ins; private 1:1 available on demand.
- Clear opt-out signals built into every practice.
- Sober container by default (with optional ceremonial cacao),
never psychedelic.
- Cultural attribution and lineage credit for every traditional form
taught.
- Code of conduct, anti-harassment protocol, and ombudsperson
independent of staff.
6. The Four Pillars Delivered: Warmth, Safety, Play, Transformation
6.1 Warmth
Warmth is engineered, not improvised. Every guest is greeted by name. Personal welcome notes from Ammanuel sit on each pillow. Meals are served family-style at long candlelit tables. Staff are trained in the generous-host posture: presence over performance, attention over scripts. Guests feel held the way one feels held at the wedding of a beloved cousin.
6.2 Safety
Safety is the precondition of transformation. We deliver it through: (1) trauma-aware facilitation by clinically credentialed staff, (2) explicit consent at every threshold, (3) a 24/7 quiet room and oncall therapist, (4) no forced sharing, ever, (5) physical safety standards (sprung floors, hydration, medical staff), (6) cultural safety (lineage, attribution, paid cultural advisors), and (7) emotional safety (no shaming, no spiritual bypass, no unsolicited advice).
6.3 Play
Lila is the secret weapon. Costume nights. Surprise dance flashexperiences. A house DJ who reads the room. A sense of humor in every facilitation cue. Permission to be ridiculous, awkward, beautiful, weird. The retreat refuses the tyranny of solemnity that haunts most transformational work. We laugh. A lot.
6.4 Transformation
Transformation lands because the four pillars stack: warmth makes safety believable, safety makes play possible, play makes transformation involuntary. By Day 4, guests are doing things their Day-0 selves would have refused — and enjoying it. The 90-day integration plan ensures the change holds.
7. Impact on Everyone Involved
7.1 Impact on Guests
- Average reported stress reduction (pre/post): 60%+.
- Self-reported relational quality with partners and teams:
significantly improved at 90 days.
- New friendships per guest: 8–12, durable beyond the retreat.
- Embodied emotional vocabulary that lasts a lifetime.
- Many guests report it as "the best week of my life" within the
first 24 hours of returning home.
7.2 Impact on Facilitators & Staff
- Living-wage compensation, profit-share, and annual sabbatical.
- Ongoing supervision and continuing education stipend.
- A career path that does not require burnout.
- Genuine creative authorship over their pedagogy.
7.3 Impact on Host Communities
- Local sourcing (food, flowers, laundry, transport) at minimum
70% of venue spend.
- Cultural advisor honoraria for any traditional forms taught inregion.
- Annual scholarship retreat for local educators, healers, and
youth dance leaders, fully funded.
7.4 Impact on Ammanuel & Luminous Prosperity
- A signature offering that anchors the brand for a generation.
- A community flywheel: alumni become referrers, repeat guests,
and trained facilitators.
- A research partnership pipeline (universities studying group
flow, somatic memory, retreat efficacy).
8. Marketing Strategy
8.1 Brand Voice
Warm, literate, unapologetically joyful, never overclaiming. We do not say "life-changing." We say "you will move differently afterward, and so will the people who love you."
8.2 Hero Slogans (rotation)
- Move the body. Move the heart. Move the life. Then dance.
- Lila with a luxury concierge.
- The most fun week of your life is also the most transformational.
- We don't run retreats. We change the field — and the dance
floor.
- Five days that organize the next five years.
- Your body has been talking. We finally translate.
8.3 Funnel
- Top of funnel. Long-form essays by Ammanuel on Substack,
podcast appearances, contributed pieces in Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, Harvard Business Review (corporate retreats), and The Cut. Cinematic short films of past retreats.
- Mid-funnel. Free 60-minute virtual Movement Intelligence
Demo every two weeks. Founder dinners in NYC, LA, London, Mexico City, Lisbon. A WhatsApp-based application waitlist that creates intimacy and curation.
- Bottom of funnel. Curated 1:1 interviews with Ammanuel or a
senior facilitator. No high-pressure sales — the work sells itself or it isn't right.
- Expansion. Alumni invite-only deepening retreats. Couples
editions. Founder-and-team Lila Privates. Annual reunion festival.
8.4 Channels & Partnerships
- Strategic partnerships with: high-end wellness brands, family
offices' lifestyle desks, executive coaches, leading therapists, dance institutions (Gibney, Movement Research), and select luxury hotels for off-season residencies.
- A referral program with no kickbacks — only credit toward the
alumni reunion and a personal note from Ammanuel.
- A docu-series capturing one full retreat, distributed on a major
streamer, designed to be both art and category-defining marketing.
8.5 Content & Storytelling
- Resonance accounts (consent-cleared guest stories) in three
formats: 90-second video, 600-word essay, 30-second slogananchor.
- A quarterly print journal mailed to alumni and prospects,
beautiful enough to leave on a coffee table.
- An always-on Library of the Living Body — short practice videos
free to the public, the most generous lead magnet in wellness.
9. Financial Snapshot (Year One Pro Forma)
- Retreats per year: 12 (mix of Discovery, Signature, Deep, and 4
Privates).
- Average gross revenue per retreat: $260,000.
- Annual gross revenue (Year 1): approximately $3.1M.
- Cost of delivery (venue, staff, food, music, travel): ~52%.
- Marketing & community: ~15%.
- G&A and reserves: ~13%.
- Net contribution margin (Year 1): ~20%, reinvested into Year 2
expansion and the scholarship retreat.
- Year 3 target: 24 retreats, $7.5M revenue, 25% net margin, with
two flagship venues under long-term lease.
10. Risks & Mitigations
- Facilitator burnout. Mitigated by 2:1 staffing, sabbaticals, and
capped retreat density per facilitator.
- Cultural appropriation risk. Mitigated by paid cultural advisors,
lineage acknowledgment, and refusal to teach forms without
permission.
- Safety incident. Mitigated by clinical staff, robust intake, and an
independent ombudsperson.
- Brand dilution as we scale. Mitigated by Ammanuel's continued
personal presence at flagship retreats and a deliberately small certified-facilitator pipeline.
- Macroeconomic downturn. Mitigated by tiered pricing,
scholarship pathway, and corporate Lila Privates that are recession-resilient.
11. The 90-Day Launch Plan
- Days 0–30. Confirm flagship venue, sign first three facilitators,
complete brand identity, open waitlist, schedule first three Movement Intelligence Demos.
- Days 31–60. Run two pilot Discovery Retreats at reduced rates
with cinematic documentation; gather resonance accounts; finalize ops manual.
- Days 61–90. Launch first paid Signature cohort, publish docushort, secure first corporate Lila Private, open alumni community.
12. Closing Note from Ammanuel
This is not a retreat. It is a rehearsal for the rest of your life — the version where your body is welcome, your heart is seen, your laughter is loud, and your transformation is fun. Luminous Prosperity exists to make this real, at scale, without ever losing the warmth of the first time we danced together. Welcome to the Lila Retreat. The floor is sprung. The music is ready. We are, as always, ready to move with you.
Closing slogan: Move the body. Move the heart. Move the world. Then dance.

A Story From The Road
Notes from a Luminous Prosperity Facilitator, Written The Morning After The Closing Night Of The Sintra Lila Retreat
--The plane lands in Lisbon at 3:47 in the afternoon, and by the time my luggage tumbles onto the carousel I have already been smiling for an hour, because somewhere over the Atlantic I remembered what week it was. It is the week of the Lila Retreat. It is the week we drive an hour west to the converted dance hall on the cliffs above the sea in Sintra, the one with the sprung wood floor that has held more practice than any floor in our roster, the one where the windows open onto Atlantic wind and the kitchen hums with the sound of a hundred humans being fed food that loves them back. It is the week I get to come home to the work, which is also the week I get to come home to myself, which is also — let me just say it — the week I get to dance until 4 a.m. with a hedge fund founder, a high school art teacher, a hospice nurse, and a forty-three year old chief of staff from Frankfurt who hasn't moved her hips in public since her wedding and is about to discover that her hips remember absolutely everything.
I have been a senior facilitator with Luminous Prosperity for nine years. Before that I trained in Bharatanatyam for eleven years with a teacher in Chennai whose mother trained with Rukmini Devi, then in contact improvisation in Oakland with people whose teachers studied with Steve Paxton, then in dance/movement therapy at a clinic in Tel Aviv where I held the hands of survivors I will think about every day until I die, then for two years in butoh in a freezing studio outside Kyoto where my teacher used to make me stand in third position for forty-five minutes before he would even let me consider moving. I do not say any of this to impress
you. I say it because lineage is the thing I love most about this work, and lineage is the thing I am about to spend five days putting on the floor in front of strangers who will become, by Day Three, the closest people in my life.
