III. THE FIVE-DAY ARC — TECHNIQUES, TACTICS, AND TRANSFORMATIONAL LOGIC
Day 1 — Arrival & The Loosening of the Grip
Theme: Trust the field.
- Welcome of live cello and a hand-crafted welcome elixir
- No agenda shared in advance — guests are invited into trust
before they're invited into transformation
- Slow welcome dinner, opening fire, single prompt: "What would
you do if scarcity was a lie?"
- Technique: Field-priming through sensory beauty + radical nonagenda; the unraveling begins before the curriculum starts.
- Outcome: Nervous-system downshift, social-armor softening,
group field begins to coalesce.
Day 2 — Morphic Foundations
Theme: The field is real and you are tuning it.
- Dawn Luminous Somatics movement on the land (the body
listening to the field, not yoga-as-fitness)
- Mid-morning teaching: morphic manifestation theory grounded
in Sheldrake, HeartMath coherence research, and case studies from real enterprises
- Afternoon: 90-minute paired Field-Tuning sessions (every guest
matched with one other guest)
- Evening: long dinner + Berlin-flown DJ for a Dance Psychology
dance floor that runs until 2am — kinesthetic abundance learning, body-first
- Techniques: Heart coherence training, paired morphic
resonance work, kinesthetic field-tuning through ecstatic dance.
- Outcome: Embodied recognition that the field is sense-able,
shape-able, and fun.
Day 3 — Non-Dual Day (The Deep)
Theme: The separate self running your company is not what you are.
- Morning silence, opened with a single bell
- Small-pod self-inquiry sessions: "Who is leading?"
- Afternoon pointing-out instruction from a senior teacher in the
Advaita / Dzogchen lineage (in-person or by satellite)
- Quiet evening: simple meal, stargazing, journaling
- Techniques: Atma vichara (self-inquiry), guided non-dual
recognition, noble silence, contemplative integration.
- Outcome: A loosening of the heroic-CEO archetype; surrender
becomes a strategic competency.
Day 4 — Lila & The Outlandish
Theme: The universe is playing. Are you?
- Improv troupe trained in non-dual presence
- Aerial-silks circus performer teaching surrender through trust
- Multi-act ceremonial dinner by a chef who turns food into liturgy
- Fire dancers, poets, an improvising cellist responding to the
room's emotional weather
- Late-night ceremony-laced party where the canon's slogans are
coined around the fire
- Techniques: Embodied play pedagogy, ceremonial gastronomy,
improv-as-presence, beauty-as-practice.
- Outcome: The teaching is implicit: play is not a break from
strategy — play is the highest strategy.
Day 5 — Integration & The Vow
Theme: Carry the field home.
- Slow harvest circle: each guest articulates the field-shift they're
bringing back
- Each guest writes a personal Vow — to themselves, to their
company, to the field
- Each guest receives a hand-bound Workbook integrated with the
Abundant Field OS for 90 days of daily prompts and weekly Steward check-ins
- Closing ceremony at noon, long farewell lunch, reluctant
departure
- Outcome: A permanent thread woven between 25 enterprises
and the Luminous lineage.
IV. WARMTH, SAFETY, PLAY & TRANSFORMATION — THE FOUR PILLARS OF DELIVERY
Warmth (how it's held):
- 1:5 facilitator-to-guest ratio across the full team
- Personalized arrival rituals (handwritten note, dietary
preferences honored to the gram, guest's favorite music playing in their suite at check-in)
- Ammanuel personally meets every guest within the first 24 hours
- A culture of being seen — names remembered, eye contact
prioritized, slowness protected
Safety (how risk is managed):
- Pre-retreat 30-minute Field Discovery call screens for
psychological readiness and contraindications
- On-site licensed somatic therapist on-call 24/7 throughout the
retreat
- Trauma-informed facilitation training for the entire team
- Clear consent culture for all body-based, ceremonial, and nondual deep-work segments — every guest can opt out of any
modality without social cost
- Comprehensive insurance, on-site medical liaison, full COI for all
venues
- Confidentiality covenant signed by all guests — nothing leaves
the container without consent Play (how joy is engineered, not accidental):
- Lila is treated as a measurable outcome, not a vibe
- Day 4 is structured entirely around generative play; the dance
floor on Day 2 and the closing fire on Day 4 are non-negotiable design elements
- Surprises are scheduled (an unannounced cellist, an unexpected
fire dancer, a midnight star-bath in a Tuscan pool)
- Humor is a stated facilitation value — Ammanuel's lineage prizes
the laugh as a transmission vehicle Transformation (how the change is real and durable):
- Pre/post field-state assessments through the Abundant Field OS
- 90-day post-retreat integration with weekly Steward check-ins
- Vow accountability paired with a buddy from the cohort
- Quarterly alumni gatherings to maintain the morphic thread
- 18-month outcome tracking on personal, professional, and
economic indicators (with opt-in)
V. LOGISTICS & OPERATIONS

- Ammanuel Santa Anna (Lead Facilitator)
- 2 senior Field Stewards
- 1 somatic therapist / safety lead
- 1 ceremonial chef + sous-chef
- 1 logistics lead / Guest Steward

VI. IMPACT — ON GUESTS, ON THEIR ENTERPRISES, ON THE WIDER FIELD
On the individual guest:
- Reported decreases in chronic stress, scarcity-anxiety, and
decision fatigue
- Reported increases in creative output, relational depth, sleep
quality, and felt-sense of meaning
- Concrete behavioral shifts: leadership-style changes,
surrendered grip on control, restored relationship with play On their enterprises:
- Documented case-study outcomes: ARR growth (Series-C SaaS
founder: $80M → $112M in 6 months post-retreat), churn reduction (~40%), culture-coherence shifts measurable in retention and NPS
- Faster, cleaner decision-making
- Restored innovation pipelines
- Healthier executive teams
On the wider field:
- 25 enterprises per retreat × 4 retreats per year = 100 culture
leaders annually carrying tuned fields back into the global economy
- Compounding morphic effect across alumni communities
- A measurable contribution to the cultural tipping point away from
extractive scarcity-capitalism toward regenerative abundancecapitalism
VII. MARKETING — HOW THE FIELD FINDS THE GUESTS
Positioning: The Overflow Retreat is not a wellness retreat, not an offsite, and not a leadership intensive. It is the only luxury retreat in the world that integrates morphic field science, non-dual contemplative wisdom, and ceremony-grade joy for serious enterprise leaders. Category of one.
Channels:
- Founder-led storytelling — Ammanuel as the visible,
charismatic, trustworthy face. Long-form essays, podcast appearances on conscious-capital and founder-focused shows, a quarterly letter to the Luminous list.
- Alumni referral — Each retreat ends with a structured invitation
for alumni to nominate two future guests. Historic conversion: 60%+ of seats filled via alumni referral by Year 2.
- Strategic partnerships — With conscious-capital funds, family
offices, founder communities (YPO, EO), and aligned wisdomtradition lineages.
- Anchor essay marketing — Each quarter, Luminous publishes
one definitive essay (e.g., "Lila Is the Missing KPI," "Marketing Is Just Morphic Resonance with a Budget") that becomes the inbound engine.
- Application-only access — Scarcity of seats (25/quarter)
creates a real waitlist. The waitlist is itself the marketing.
- Editorial placements — Long-form features in publications read
by the target audience (Monocle, Conde Nast Traveler, Worth, How To Live, Emergence Magazine).
- The Book as funnel — The Abundant Field (the book) is the topof-funnel artifact. Reading it creates self-selecting demand.
Slogans (deployable across all channels):
- Stop manifesting. Start overflowing.
- The field is already abundant. We just stop blocking it.
- Lila is the missing KPI.
- Pedagogy is a party. Curriculum is ceremony. Strategy is song.
- Your enterprise is a morphic field. Tune it on purpose.
Anecdotal proof (testimonial backbone):
- "I came for the strategy. I left with my soul." — CTO, publiccompany SaaS
- "My team thought I'd been replaced. In a sense, I had." — CEO,
family office
- "I have been to seventeen offsites. None of them were this." —
CPO, Fortune 500
- "There was a moment on Day Four when I realized I had been
running my company from fear for fifteen years. I cried for an hour. Then I danced for three. We've grown 60% since." — Founder, marketplace company
VIII. FINANCIALS (YEAR-ONE PROFORMA)
Revenue (Year 1):
- 4 retreats × 25 guests × $18,500 blended ASP = $1,850,000
- Patron tier upsells (~20% of seats): +$270,000
- Pull-through to Course / Platform / Steward retainer (Year 1
attribution): +$900,000–$1,400,000
- Year-1 attributable top-line: ~$3.0M–$3.5M
Direct cost per retreat: ~$185,000 (venue, team, food, art, travel, materials) Gross margin per retreat: ~60% Year-1 EBITDA target: 25–30% on the retreat line, with the retreat functioning primarily as the demand engine for the
higher-margin platform and Stewardship lines.
IX. RISKS & MITIGATIONS
- Reputational: Mitigated by trauma-informed facilitation, clinical
safety, and consent culture.
- Operational: Mitigated by tight team ratios, redundant
programming, and 24/7 clinical on-call.
- Category confusion: Mitigated by a disciplined positioning —
this is not wellness, not an offsite. Clear category definition through Ammanuel's writing.
- Founder-key-person risk: Mitigated by a Year-2 plan to certify
two senior Field Stewards capable of leading retreats with Ammanuel as co-host.
X. THE TWELVE-MONTH ROADMAP
- Q1: Inaugural Overflow Retreat (redwood grove). Publish The
Abundant Field book. Soft-launch the Abundant Field OS to 3 pilot enterprises.
- Q2: Tuscan villa retreat. Expand platform pilots to 12 enterprises.
First cohort of the 12-week course.
- Q3: Costa Rican cloud forest retreat. Onboard the first Patron
Tier cohort. Launch Field Steward certification program.
- Q4: Scottish Highlands retreat. First annual Alumni Gathering.
Year-1 outcome report published.
XI. CLOSING BENEDICTION
The Overflow Retreat is not a product. It is a field event. It is the
place where the most influential humans of this generation come to remember that they are part of an overflowing universe, and that their enterprises are not separate from that overflow. It is rigorous and it is laughing. It is ceremonious and it is dancing. It is luxurious and it is humble. It is, quite simply, what the field has been waiting for someone to build.
Luminous Prosperity, Inc. is building it.
Stop manifesting. Start overflowing.

STORY FROM THE ROAD — "The Night the Field Overflowed"
Told by Sequoia Ravenwild, Luminous Prosperity facilitator, recorded around a fire on the last night of the Abundant Field Retreat, somewhere in the high desert of New Mexico. ——— Okay. Okay okay okay. Pour me another mezcal, would you, the smoky one — yes, that one, gracias — and pull your chair closer because this is the story I have been waiting nine days to tell, and if I do not tell it tonight under these particular stars I think my ribs will crack open and the story will simply walk out of me on its own four legs.
You want to know what it is like to be on the road with Luminous Prosperity. You want to know what we actually do out here. So I will tell you. I will tell you about Tuesday. I will tell you about the goats. I will tell you about Miriam, who came in with her arms folded across her chest like a small fortress and left holding hands with a stranger and weeping with laughter at the same time. I will tell you about the moment the field overflowed — and I mean literally overflowed, the cooler of cold-pressed hibiscus tipped over and ran down the slick rock like a river of rubies and nobody moved to clean it up because we were all just too busy being astonished.
But first you have to understand my lineage, because none of what we do makes sense without it.
My teacher's teacher's teacher was a woman named Esperanza Luz, who learned from a Zapotec curandera in Oaxaca and from a Tibetan ngakpa in Dharamsala in the same lifetime, which she always said was not unusual at all, the field arranges these things. She used to say abundance is not a noun, mija, it is a verb the universe is conjugating in every tense at once. My direct teacher, Brother Soren, brought that lineage into what we now call Luminous Prosperity — the marriage of morphic field science with non-dual holistic abundance — and he handed me the talking stick on a Thursday in 2019 and told me my job was to make people laugh hard enough that their scarcity stories fell out of them like loose change.
That is the calling. That is the whole of it. I am a comedian in the lineage of mystics. I am a mystic in the lineage of dancers. I am a dancer in the lineage of accountants, somehow, because my grandmother kept books for the parish in Guadalajara and she taught me that money is just attention with a nervous system, and you can soothe it the way you would soothe a cat. That is my domain. That is what I have spent twenty-two years learning. I can read a room's morphic field the way a sommelier reads a vintage. I can feel where the scarcity knots live in a body — usually right between the third and fourth ribs on the left side, by the way, you should know this — and I can sing them loose with the right combination of breathwork, spreadsheet, and salsa music.
Do not laugh. I am serious. The salsa is not optional.
So. The retreat. This particular retreat — the Abundant Field intensive, nine days at a place we will call Casa del Cielo because that is what we call it, even though officially it has a longer and less poetic name — this one was the seventh time I have run the
curriculum, and it was different from the start. I knew it was going to be different the moment the participants walked in, because the field that arrived with them was thick. You know that feeling when a thunderstorm has not started yet but the air is already pregnant with it and the dogs are pacing? Like that. Twenty-eight people walked in carrying twenty-eight thunderstorms, and I stood at the door with a tray of welcome elixirs and I thought, oh, my loves. We are going to have a time.
Let me describe the cast, because every retreat is a play and the casting is half of everything.
There was Miriam, sixty-one, hedge fund alumna, recently widowed, who introduced herself by saying she did not believe in any of this and was only here because her therapist had bullied her. Excellent. Welcome.
There was Daveed, thirty-four, who had sold a tech company two years ago and had not slept properly since because, in his exact words, the money won't stop talking to me at night.
There was Anyu, who was a Dzogchen practitioner of fifteen years and a single mother of three and was secretly hoping the retreat would tell her it was okay to charge more for her teaching, which it absolutely was, but she needed the field to tell her, not me.
There was a young man named Kit who showed up in cargo shorts and a haunted expression and turned out to be the grandson of a man who had lost everything in 1987 and had passed the loss down through the bones of three generations like a contagion. There was a couple, Rosa and Theo, who had been married eleven years and who had stopped touching each other because their joint bank account had become a battlefield, which is a thing that happens, and which we know exactly how to undo.
And there were twenty-two more, each one a constellation, each one a chapter of a book the field was writing in real time.
Day one is always orientation, ceremony, opening circle, all of it scaffolded carefully because you cannot just throw people into the deep water of non-dual abundance work without first showing them where the shore is. We did the cosmic abundance meditation from chapter one. I had them stand in a circle under the cottonwood and I asked them to feel the Big Bang in their pelvises — which, yes, sounds ridiculous, but stay with me — and to notice that the same generosity that flung two hundred billion galaxies into being is the same generosity flinging breath into their lungs right now, in this exact moment, without their permission and without a price tag.
Miriam rolled her eyes so hard I was worried she would sprain something. I winked at her. She rolled them again. I knew right then she was going to be the one who broke open the deepest. The eye-rollers always are. They are guarding the most tender thing.
Day two we did the morphic field of scarcity work. We mapped, on a giant piece of butcher paper rolled out across the dining hall floor, every scarcity field they were participating in. Family fields. Cultural fields. Industry fields. Generational fields. The paper got dark with ink. People cried. People laughed. Kit drew his grandfather's 1987 in a corner and then drew an arrow from it to his own current bank balance and then sat down on the floor and stared at the arrow like it had just told him a secret in a language he had been pretending not to speak.
This is domain mastery, by the way. This is what twenty-two years gives you. The ability to watch a man have that exact realization and to know — to know in your body — that you must not interrupt it, you must not name it, you must not facilitate it, you must simply
put a cup of warm cardamom milk near his elbow and walk away and trust the field. The field is the teacher. I am the busboy. Day three was the day of the goats.
Now. I did not plan the goats. The goats were not in the curriculum. The goats came because the neighbor's fence collapsed in the night and at 6:14 in the morning, just as we were beginning the dawn coherence practice on the slick rock, eleven goats came pouring over the ridge and into our circle like a hairy cavalry of comic relief. Eleven goats. Eleven. The number was absurd. Daveed started laughing and could not stop. Anyu got up from her cushion and kissed a goat on its forehead. Miriam — Miriam, the eye-roller, the fortress, the hedge fund alumna — Miriam sat down cross-legged in the dust and let a small black goat climb into her lap and she said, out loud, to no one in particular, in the voice of a woman who has not used this voice in forty years, oh, you sweet thing, you sweet sweet thing, where did you come from.
And that was the moment the retreat tipped. I have run this retreat seven times and I can tell you the exact tipping moment of each one and they are never the moment I planned. The field tips when it tips. Day three. Goats. Miriam's voice cracking open like an egg. The rest of the morning we just let the goats stay. I rewrote the schedule on the back of a napkin. We did the ecology of abundance teaching with eleven goats wandering through it, occasionally eating people's notes, and I have to tell you, there has never been a better illustration of biological overflow than a goat eating chapter four of your workbook while making direct eye contact with you. The neighbor came at lunch and apologized profusely and I told him no, no, please, the goats are part of the curriculum now, can we keep them through Friday, I will pay for their grain, and he laughed and said keep them through Sunday if you want, they like it over here.
So we kept them. And every morning practice for the rest of the retreat had goats in it. The goats became the most popular faculty members. People started naming them. The little black one who had climbed into Miriam's lap was christened Sheldrake, after Rupert, which I found extremely funny and also extremely correct. Now let me tell you about the night I actually came here to tell you about. The party night. The night the field overflowed.
Day six. We had done the heavy work. We had done the ancestral money field clearing and the non-dual self-inquiry and the long silent walk and the somatic release session that always leaves the room smelling like sweat and rosemary and something I can only describe as the inside of a freshly cracked geode. People were tender. People were luminous. People were, frankly, a little wrecked, in the very best way, the way a field is wrecked after a generous rain.
And at Luminous Prosperity, when we have done the deep work, we throw a party. This is non-negotiable. This is part of the lineage. Esperanza Luz used to say that any teaching that does not end in dancing is half a teaching, and I have built my entire practice on that sentence. We do not believe in transcendence without celebration. We do not believe in transformation without sweat and music. The non-dual is not a quiet little thing in a meditation hall. The non-dual is also a sweaty hip-roll at midnight. The non-dual is also a belly laugh that makes you snort hibiscus tea out of your nose.
So on day six we threw the party. And I will describe it to you in detail because the details are the whole of it.
The slick rock at Casa del Cielo is shaped like a giant warm tongue laid out under the sky. We put strands of warm white lights all the way around it. We set up a sound system run off a solar
battery and my partner-in-crime Marisol — who is the DJpriestess of our lineage, she trained as a kundalini yoga teacher and as a club DJ in Berlin in the same five-year period, do not ask me how, the field arranges these things — Marisol set up her decks under the cottonwood and she had a setlist that started with Sufi devotional music and was going to end with reggaeton at midnight and the journey between those two points was, I am telling you, a thirty-thousand-foot view of the entire Luminous Prosperity cosmology compressed into a four-hour dance arc.
We had a long table. The table was abundance itself. Watermelon cut into hearts. Three kinds of mole. A whole roasted something — I will not describe it, vegetarians among you — and also for the vegetarians a tower of grilled vegetables glistening like a small green city. Cold-pressed hibiscus tea by the gallon. Mezcal, of course. A large blue ceramic bowl of the most perfect ripe figs I have ever seen in my life, figs like small purple bells, figs that you bite into and your eyes close involuntarily.
The goats were there. Of course the goats were there. Sheldrake the goat had become Miriam's familiar by this point and was wearing a small flower crown that someone had made for him, do not ask me who, I do not need to know.
And we began.
We began with a short ceremony — five minutes, no more, the party-ceremony ratio matters, you cannot tip it the wrong way — in which I asked each person to name one scarcity story they were ready to release into the fire, and we had a small bonfire going off to the side, and one by one twenty-eight people came up and spoke into the fire and threw a piece of paper in. Daveed went up and he said, the money does not have to talk to me at night anymore, I am ready to let it sleep, and he threw his paper in. Kit went up and he said, grandpa, I love you, and I am setting you down now, and he threw his paper in and he wept and Anyu held
him from behind without saying a word. Miriam went up — Miriam — and she said, my husband was a good man and money was never the love of our life, and I forgive myself for thinking it was, and she threw her paper in and she did not cry, she smiled, a smile I had not seen on her face all week, a smile that was its own ceremony.
And then Marisol dropped the first beat.
And we danced.
Oh, my friend. We danced. I have been to a lot of parties in my life. I have been to warehouse raves in Mexico City and to wedding receptions in Lagos and to ecstatic dance gatherings on three continents and I am telling you, there is something that happens when you dance with twenty-eight people who have just done six days of deep field work together, something that does not happen at any other kind of party, something that I can only describe by saying that the dance floor became a single body. Not metaphorically. Not poetically. Literally. The morphic field of the group resonated to such a degree of coherence that you could feel — and I mean physically feel, through the soles of your feet — the moment when the individual ended and the collective began. We were not twenty-eight bodies dancing. We were one body with twenty-eight limbs.
This is what I mean when I say the work is both party and transcendence in the same breath. This is the formula. The transcendence is the party. The party is the transcendence. There is no daylight between them. The Sufis knew this. The Hasidim knew this. The Yoruba knew this. Every tradition that has ever taken non-duality seriously has also taken dancing seriously, and the traditions that have separated them have, with respect, lost the plot.
Around 11 PM something happened that I will tell my grandchildren
about, if I have grandchildren, and if I do not, I will tell yours. Daveed and Miriam — Daveed the thirty-four-year-old tech guy and Miriam the sixty-one-year-old hedge fund widow, two people who had nothing in common except that they had spent six days in the same morphic field — found each other in the middle of the dance floor and they began to dance together. Not romantically. Please understand. Something much better than romantically.
They danced like two people who had recognized each other from a previous lifetime and were just catching up. Miriam was laughing — laughing — that laugh that comes from somewhere underneath the ribs, that laugh that is the body's way of crying happy tears without using its eyes — and Daveed was laughing back at her and they were doing some kind of improvised salsa-merenguejazz hybrid that should not have worked and was working perfectly, and at some point Miriam grabbed his face in both her hands and said something to him I could not hear over the music and he nodded very seriously and then they both burst out laughing again and kept dancing.
Later she told me what she had said to him. I will tell you. She had said: my husband would have loved you. And Daveed had nodded because what else do you do.
This is what I mean by care and love for the lineage. Not just our teaching lineage. The lineages each person carries in their bones. The husband Miriam carried. The grandfather Kit carried. The Zapotec curandera I carry. We are walking libraries of love. The retreat is a place where the libraries are allowed, finally, to read themselves out loud.
At 11:47 PM, by my watch, the cooler of hibiscus tea tipped over. I do not know who tipped it. I think it might have been Sheldrake the goat. I have my suspicions. The cooler tipped and three gallons of cold-pressed hibiscus tea ran out across the slick rock
— pink, magenta, a river — and it caught the warm string lights in such a way that for one impossible second the whole rock lit up like a neon stained-glass window. And nobody moved to clean it. Nobody. Not one person. We just kept dancing in the hibiscus tea. Bare feet, sandals, one person in cowboy boots who I will not name. We danced through the spill and the spill made footprints and the footprints became part of the dance and Marisol — bless her — did not miss a beat, she just let the music keep building, and at some point I caught Anyu's eye across the dance floor and Anyu was crying and laughing at the same time and she shouted something to me that I could not hear but which I could lip-read, she said, the field is overflowing, and I shouted back, I know, I know, I see it.
This is the moment. This is the moment I came to tell you about. This is the moment I will be chasing for the rest of my life as a facilitator. The moment when the teaching is no longer something you are teaching, the moment when the abundance is no longer something you are demonstrating, the moment when the field simply does its thing in front of you and through you and you are just one of the lucky ones who happened to be standing on the slick rock when it happened.
Midnight came. Marisol dropped the reggaeton. The goats had long since wandered off to bed because goats are sensible. The dance got sweatier and sillier and eventually softer, eventually slower, and by 1 AM we were all lying on the slick rock on our backs looking up at the Milky Way which over Casa del Cielo is so thick it looks like spilled cream, and someone — I think it was Theo, the husband from the couple — started singing a song I did not know, a song in some language none of us shared, and one by one we joined him, humming the parts we did not have words for, and that is how the night ended.
Not with a bang. Not with a teaching. Not with a closing circle. With twenty-eight people lying on a warm rock under the Milky
Way, humming a song in a language nobody knew, with hibiscus tea drying on the soles of their feet.
This is the calling. This is what I am for. This is what my grandmother in Guadalajara was preparing me for when she taught me that money is attention with a nervous system. This is what Esperanza Luz was preparing the lineage for when she said abundance is a verb. This is what the entire morphic field of Luminous Prosperity has been preparing all of us for — to be the kind of people who can hold the deep work AND the dance floor in the same hand. To be the kind of people who know that the non-dual is not a place you go to, it is a party you throw.
My favorite part of this particular retreat — and I have favorites for every retreat, I keep a little list — was not the goats, although the goats are a strong contender. It was not the hibiscus river, although that is going in the highlight reel. It was a moment on the morning of day seven, the morning after the party, when I came down to the dining hall hungover on joy and a little bit of mezcal, and I found Miriam already there, sitting at a table by the window with Kit, the haunted-grandfather kid, and she was teaching him how to read a balance sheet. I am not making this up. The retired hedge fund alumna was teaching the inheritor of intergenerational money trauma how to read a balance sheet, with kindness, as a love language, as a way of soothing the nervous system of the money he had been taught to fear. And Kit was nodding, taking notes, his shoulders down for the first time in seven days. And Miriam looked up and saw me watching, and she winked.
Miriam. Winked. At me. The eye-roller. The fortress. Winked. That is when I knew. That is when I always know. The field has done its work. We can pack up the cooler. We can sweep up the figs. We can drive home through the high desert with the windows down. We can write the next book. We can plan the next retreat. The lineage is intact. The abundance is intact. The party is intact.
The transcendence is intact. They are not two things. They were never two things.
Pour me one more, would you. Just a finger. To Miriam. To Sheldrake the goat. To Marisol's perfect setlist. To my grandmother in Guadalajara. To Esperanza Luz, wherever she is in the field. To you, for sitting through this whole story without once interrupting, which by the way is itself a kind of love, a kind of abundance, a kind of dancing.
The field is overflowing. It always was. It always will be. It has no plans to stop.
