PARABLE
The Playful Gardener
A gardener tended to his garden with great care, planting seeds and nurturing them with love. One day, a traveler passed by and asked, "Why do you work so hard? What is your goal?" The gardener looked around at his flourishing plants and laughed, saying, "I have no goal, only the joy of tending to what grows. Sometimes I sing to the plants, sometimes I dance between the rows. The garden grows best when I play with it." The traveler watched as the gardener danced among the tomatoes, laughing as he wove through the vines. When the traveler left, he found himself whistling a tune, humming with an unfamiliar joy.
STRUCTURE & TECHNIQUE
These practices help clear apertures—spaces where evolutionary intelligence and divine play (Lila) can flow more freely:
- Aperture Breath (Daily)
- Place a hand on your heart and imagine a small aperture opening with each inhale, letting light or intelligence in.
- With each exhale, release rigidity—a thought, emotion, or belief.
- Gradually expand the aperture as it feels safe to do so.
- Playful Problem-Framing (Weekly)
- Approach a challenge by asking: "How would I solve this if it were a game?"
- Brainstorm
