VI. Why It Is Exceptional — A Fair Assessment

I want to be precise rather than glowing. There are excellent transformation traditions in the world. I have studied with several. Here is what makes this one exceptional in the strict sense — meaning, what cannot be substituted by any other training I know of:

  1. The four-domain architecture. No one else holds all four. Most

schools deliver one well, two badly, three not at all.

  1. The meta-facilitation curriculum. The Ultimate Guide to

Luminous Facilitation is the only book I know of that addresses the integrated artistry — the thing between modalities that singledomain books cannot reach.

  1. The Pedagogy-as-Party design. No serious transformation

An article for the gloriously suspicious, the secretly tired, the ferociously alive, and anyone who has ever sat in a transformation workshop at 2pm under fluorescent lighting and thought: 'There has to be a better way to become a new human being than this.'

I. A Confession Up Front

Let's just say it: most retreats are boring. They are wellintentioned, beautifully marketed, frequently overpriced, and approximately as transformational as a long brunch. You go. You journal.
